  • The Winter at Valley Forge (1777)
  • The winter at Valley Forge was a place for the American troops to live during the winter, by no means was it meant to be permanent so it didn't have the comforts of home only beds and 12 men to one cottage and kitchens outside. At Valley Forge, the troops suffered many supplies, such as clothing and food. While there they trained men from un-trained to ametuar getting ready for the next fights to come.

  • George Washington's Quarters
  • George Washington's Housing Quarters was a brick house of 2 stories and multiple windows. George Washington's house was around 3-4 sizes bigger than his troop's cabins. It seemed suitable for their leader to have such a nice living quarter but it seemed unfair in ways.

  • Soldiers Quarters
  • The soldier's living quarters had been set up in Valley Forge for the winters and are 3-4 times smaller than George Washington was. Each cabin would usually have 2 windows and 6-12 men inside. They did not have any house hold amenities like a living room or a kitchen they were just bunk beds and windows.They were very harsh on space and many soldier's would get sick from other soldier's cause of the close up space.

  • Problems Faced by the Soldiers #1
  • There were many problems that had accrued in Valley Forge and the soldiers had to endure. But one of the many issues was supplies like food. The soldiers had to be strict about how much they would consume during their meals they had to leave enough for the other soldiers and enough for themselves tomorrow. They were eating the bare minimum giving them just enough energy for the day.

  • Problems Faced by the Soldiers #2
  • One of the most crucial problems at Valley Forge was medical care.During the winter viruses would spread like wildfires as 6-12 me in close contact because of the titley-packed cabins. A way the found a cure to this problem was to cut a healthy and infected soldier and use the puss from a infected soldier and smear it into the wound of a healthy one,making the healthy soldier immune before he can get the sickness.

  • Training with Baron Fredrick von Steuben
  • Baron Fredrick von Steuben was training the American soldier's though he spoke no English he had gotten interpreters to help him teach. During his lessons he would teach one hundred men at a time and when their basic training to be a soldier was up they would go on and teach one hundred men of there own and so on till the entirety of valley forge had been trained.
