Lyddie was debating whether she would sell it when realizing he was worth $100. In the book it says, “When I first saw you”-they were eating and somehow she needed to let him know-’I…thought…’ But she was ashamed to finish the sentence. ‘It’s a lot of money,’ he said gently. ‘I’d be tempted myself if I were you.”
The mistress fired Lyddie after she went back to her cabin without her permission. In the book it says," “So! You’ve decided to honor us with a visit!’ The mistress’s face was red with heat or rage. Behind her, Triphena grimaced an apology. She stood in the doorway, trying to frame an excuse or apology, but as usual the words did not come quickly enough to mind. ‘You’re dismissed’ the woman said.” I know this is man vs man, because the mistress fires Lyddie after she left without her permission. The mistress is 1 person, and Lyddie is the other.
In Lyddie’s cabin, a bear broke in and scared them. Lyddie and her family went to the loft of the cabin. The bear went to get the porridge to eat, but then it burned the bear making the bear go crazy and leave the cabin. In the book it states, “Lyddie glared straight into the bear’s eyes, daring him to step forward into the cabin." I know this because the bear is the nature part, and she has to survive against the bear.
