- Your name is important, Raeesah, have you forgotten how you got your name?
- For as long as I could remember, I had been told that names had significant meanings, and that my name, Raeesah was no exception. My parents would always mention the story behind my name.

- When the baby gets here, I have the perfect name for her! Raeesah! Before you ask me what it means, Raeesah means leader or chief and princess!
- Hmm, interesting, but does he know the meaning of Raeesah-
- In 2007, my second oldest brother, Rajiv was eager to be a big brother to his first and only sister. He took on the duty of being the one to give me my name.

- Raeesah, you must promise me to always take pride in your name. Your name is special and so are you. You are a leader, a chief, a princess, Raeesah.
- I understand Rajiv, I promise.
- Taking much joy in being the sole creator of my name, my brother would never forget to remind me of how my name held significance.

- RASHEEAH..? RASEEAH..? RAYSAH? You're next..
- For as long as I could remember, I was told that names had significant meanings, and that my name, Raeesah was no different. I have never shied away from correcting those who have said my name, because my older brother emphasized that it was important.
- My name is actually RAEESAH, R-A-E-E-S-A-H. The sah is SA, not SHA.
- I took every opportunity I was given, to ensure that my name was respected and said correctly.

- I can do that Jonathan, but my name is Raeesah, not Raysha.
