- I know but we just don't have the money for all of our employees right now, we've only had eight customers come in today
- Marleen's shop has been open for about 10 months now and there has been a noticeable drop in customers. A new bakery had opened across the street named philly's, quickly becoming popular customers were more interested in the bakery. Some employees had to be cut off and some quit due to lowering pay.
- That is the third person we've fired this month

- Over the next two months, marleen's cafe had lost almost all of their business. The only employees left were Marleen and Joe. They were struggling to afford bills for electricity and had to temporarily shut down for a week. Marleen moved in with her mom, unable to afford her apartment.
- Marleen, I know you're upset, but we need to face reality. It would benefit the both of us if we closed down the cafe, we are in debt and not profiting anymore, we are not stable enough to keep this up.
- Joe we cannot close, I've put so much work into this place, there has to be another option. Let's extend our temporary close and figure out what to do in the meantime. There has to be another way.

- "Thank you for helping out so much in the cafe mom" "of course!"
- After the fallout of Simply Delightful, Marleen and Joe decided to close the shop down for a few years. They went to banks to get loans for reopening and in the meantime worked part time jobs. Overbreak Marleen and Joe had a daughter and convinced her family to work in the cafe when it reopened. With money from their part time jobs, they hired a social media manager, Charles, to release their new drinks and designs that were done to the cafe. They reopened the cafe and are making more money again. New employees keep coming in and they are beginning to make money again. Things are turning around for her cafe.
- The cafe opens in 10 minutes, we only have a few customers waiting outside so it shouldn't be as busy as yesterday was. I'm glad everything is close to the way it was when we started.
- Everybody on TikTok is loving the new drinks that you've added to the menu, and people love that you guys are a family business!!
