Otis McDonald, fed up with the crime near his Chicago home, filed suit at a US District court. After his and other similar suits were rejected by the District court and the Seventh Circuit US Court of Appeals, the case made it to the Supreme Court.
Oh no! Since the 1987 ban on handguns in Chicago homes, the crime rate has gone up. My neighborhood is being terrorized by criminals but I’m not allowed to protect myself with a gun!

The 14th amendment does not require the Supreme Court to treat all Constitutional rights equally- if a state has a law, they probably have a good reason for it, so the federal government should not try to overpower that! Also, the second amendment refers to “well regulated militias,” not individual firearms.

According to the Due Process Clause of the 14th amendment, the 2nd amendment’s right to bear arms should apply to all Americans! This court already agreed in DC vs. Heller- let’s incorporate the right to all states!
