Soldiers Quarters
Washington quarters consisted of 2,000 log cabins to store troops. At the end of the spring, each log cabin was ordered to have 2 windows.

Problems Faced by the Soldiers #1
Soldiers were far from the ideal amount of resources so they had to improvise and make new foods. One of the foods they made was "fire cake" a mixture of flour and water. This would sometimes be served with vegetables and soups.

Baron Fredrick von Steuben spoke little to no English so it was hard training with him, but they learned the basics of drill in training with von Steuben. He was a member of the Prussian General staff and was deported from france.
