  • I'm sorry. I did try to be here on time, but my boss kept me five minutes longer than expected.
  • Five minutes? Then why are you almost forty minutes late? Do you have an explanation for that?
  • I do have an explanation: you are wrong! It's just six minutes past 7:30.

  • What do you mean I'm wrong? We said we would meet at 7:00.
  • We did agree on 7:30 at first, but I sent you a message about six hours ago asking to change the time. You just never pay attention to me.
  • I do pay attention to you, but I was at work. I didn't get a chance to check my phone. It was just a really busy shift.

  • Oh, I do get that. I just didn’t expect the message to go unnoticed for so long.

  • The important thing is we do get to spend time together now. I've got so much to tell you about my crazy day at work.
