- In this scene Jiend_mie mother is talking about loosing her stuff in the war and how many oppurtiintes there was in america before they moved to san fransisco. She also explains how she wants her to be a child prodigy.

- Jieng-mie was cutting hair and messed up really bad, poeple were saying it looked like peter pan and mocking her. Her mom was dissapointed .Her mother would go to clean houses and read magazinses of child prodigys and comre me to them.

- In ths part of the stoy jieng chang looks at herseff in the mirror and saw something she didnt want to. BUt she fixes herself and doesnt let her become that version of herelf by proving her mother wrong.

- Jieng meings mother informs her that she will be doing pano lessons daily. CHang mie finding this out makes her heart drop and shout. She yells at her mother why dont you ilke me the way i am?, i cired. Im not a genius.And even i woulndt go on tv for a million dollars
- In this part of the scene, CHang mie is performng and plahyong the piano after all the ractice her mom had her do. SHe got off the stage and see her mom not say a word, people comparing her, once she gts home her and her mother get into a huge arguemnt causing them to say thinsgs to eaother. After the argument Chang jie stopped playing the piano and she felt her mom so disspoainted and she felt for herself for not living up to her expectations.
- After she stopped playing the piano and going to her lessons. Her mother had asked to give her the piano but she was unsure because she hasnt played it in years. She then told her it was her piano only sh can play it and shed pick i up fast. Her mother died and she played the piano again and enjoyed playing it.
