I refuse to bow down to any god!.
There was once a very wealthy city filled with extremely intelligent people.The city was almost perfect its only flaw was that the citizens disrespected and defied the gods.
Their very large egos being hurt by this the gods decided to teach the humans a lesson.So one night they found the most menacing animal they could find and made it pledge loyalty to the gods.After this they gave it a name but they also gave it human like knoledge so it could communicate with the people.
Teach the humans in the city to respect the gods
Dont test the gods! I am only warning you once
The next day the alligator emerged out of the water and warned the village about the wrath of the gods but they did not listen and insted of questioning who gave the animal the ability to speak they made up their own answers completely ignoring the worning and defying the gods once more

Even more angered by their unwillingness to obey the gods zues commanded the loyal alligator to force them to listen.
Show them the consequences of their actions
Zues sent the beast to the city where it proceeded to ravage through every buildng causing mass destruction many casualties .This resulted in the people in the village fearing and worshiping the gods.
Being grateful for the animals loyaly toards the gods they gave it its own place among the stars to always remind the people of the city of the gods wrath and to never disrespect them again.
