- Harry hay got the idea to form a gay support organization from signing a petition for the progressive party .
- jennings arrested for being with his partner in public
- After reciving good response him and a group of his peers held a secret meetingabout forming a gay support organization for him called Bachelors for Wallace. After receiving good response the men held the first secret meeting in miami and frying that month they changed their name ot the mattachine society.
- Mattachine Wins trial
- As Hay became more involved in his Mattachine work, he correspondingly became more concerned that his orientation would negatively affect the Communist Party, which like most other organizations at the time was anti-homosexual and did not allow gay people to be members. Hay himself approached party leaders and recommended his own expulsion. The party decided to expel him as a security risk
- First Fifth Order Meeting
- THEFIFTH ORDER
- The founder jennings was arrested and accused of lewd activity in the park
- he used the opportunity of his trial to challneg the way police handle homosexuals. The jury couldnt decide so the mattachine society deemed this a win and the kickoff of their movements strides against homophobic society.
- Due to overwhelming support after jennings wins his trial, the mattachine society breaks up into diffrent head quarters across the west coast and names the group of founders THE FIFTH ORDER
