  • Hello! My name is Silver, but for short most people call me Ag. You can find me on the Periodic Table under the number 47.
  • My atomic mass is 107.8682 u. My density is 10.5 gr/cm^3
  • My melting point is 1,763°F!
  • My boiling point is 3,924°F!!! My isotopes are silver 107, and silver 109.
  • The configuration known as a pseudo noble-gas electron configuration, Silver forms a positive ion in this way. 
  • I am a soft bendable, lustrous metal, and i shine in light. 
  • I am stable in oxygen and water, but when i am exposed to sulfur i tarnish. 
  • I am a noble metal with an inert chemical reactivity in its bulk form. Cannot react with HCL in bulk Ag form.
  • I react slowly with sulfur compounds in the air. (Ag2S) , which is a black compound, and the tarnish that develops overtime on silverware.
  • Some common compounds that I can be found in is silver bromide, silver chloride, and silver nitrate.
  • Archeologists have found me in objects dating way back to the Egyptian era. Even the Bible has many refrences of me in it. 
  • My name dates back to the 12th century used to describe metal.
  • Some point in history humans discovered how to extract silver from its ores. 
  • I can be found in any jewlery store, or in the U.S. mint. Almost everywhere. Me at my best can cost $534 per ounce.
  • 10% of me is used to make coins, jewlery, and artwork. A huge role i play in is electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Without me the world would not have a thermal electrical conductor
