Rich People Problemsan excerptWritten by Kevin Kwan
Sip-Sip Restaurant
Who are these people? They are so noisy! Look at those clothes too. It looks like they won't leave now, are they?
Julie, honey, what’s the dealio? I’ve waited more than fifteen minutes for my table!
But the terrace is your prime spot! Why on earth did you let those tourists take up all that space?
Sorry, Bettina, it’s been one of those days. The party of twelve on the terrace showed up first just before you did.

I'm not interested on big boats.
Well, that tourist in the red fishing cap is the Duke of Glencora. His party just boated over from Windermere.
Bettina Ortiz y Meña was not accustomed to waiting. A former Miss Venezuela and Miss Universe runner-up, now a wife to an auto-parts tycoon, Herman Ortiz y Meña. The seat on the terrace that she wanted was already occupied by tourists.
I assume that’s the Duke’s security detail?
Feeling that she had been patient long enough, Bettina stormed into the kitchen to talk to Julia, the owner of the restaurant, Sip-Sip.
Am I supposed to know who he is?
Well, Than man is Alfred Shang! From what I hear, that chauffeur is the most powerful man in Asia.
Julie then introduced the tourists that occupied the terrace to Bettina.
...but i'm impressed with titles.
Bettina continued to assume what's the social standing of the people on the terrace. Julie then continues to introduce the tourists, who are the Duke's special guests.
Actually, those bodyguards belong to the Duke’s special guest. They did a whole sweep of the restaurant before the party arrived. See that Chinese fellow on the left corner?
At last, finally, someone on the tourists got her attention. The Chinese man intrigued Bettina's interest.
