  • We are here in liberty hall and we are signing the Declaration of Independence
  • That’s right! I’m Thomas Jefferson and i wrote most of the Declaration of Independence. One of the most famous parts that i wrote was,“we hold these truths to be self evident and that all men are created equal and endowed by their creator, with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
  • Some of the complaints against King George III are cutting off trade, suspending local legislatures, waging war against the colonies, imposing taxes without consent, depriving trial by jury, and maintaining standing armies in peacetime

  • Here we are at breeds hill. Even though the battle is called bunker hill, it was fought on breeds hill.
  • Right, when we eventually lost the war, it was because we ran out of ammunition. Even if we lost, it proved we could fight. Over 1000 British soldiers died that day.

  • Now we are in Lexington, where one of the first battles of the revolutionary war was fought. This was in Massachusetts, and was the start of the revolutionary war
  • Most unfortunately, the war started with “the shot heard around the world,” although nobody knows who fired it
