I have to regretfully inform you that Calix is on a drug called Soma and it is damaging his brain and heart.
Clinical trial patient 249 will receive the active microchip and not the placebo chip
Year is 2050. Teenage boy, Calix, becomes depressed and has aggressive mood swings. The mother, Nova, is worried that it is due to drug abuse. Nova suggests Calix see a Medical Professional and takes him to the Hospital.
Hey Mom,I love you!
I love you too!The surgery went well.
It is found that Calix suffers an addiction to a recently invented illicit substance, commonly called Soma. There are still large amounts of it in his body. He was then also diagnosed with depression.Calix has Dual Diagnosis.
I'm glad you are feeling better!
7 Years Later....
A new method for treating Dual Diagnosis in Teenagers is now being tested and the doctor asks the family if they are willing to participate. The Method involves implanting a small chip into the brain which would stop the addiction and allow for the depression to be treated using the normal methods.
What a Beautiful Day!
Calix comes out of surgery and is in recovery. Nova is Extremely happy to see that already there is a noticeable positive increase in mood due to Calix not having withdrawals from the illicit substances or any intense mood swings or cravings.
The surgery was a complete success and later that year, the microchip treatment transitioned from stage 3 of clinical trials into stage 4 clinical trials. Calix is happily living his life with no problems and regularly goes to see a therapist for checkups.
The addiction cycle is broken and the depression is under control. Calix, now in his mid twenties, no longer needs to visit a therapist.Calix goes on to meet Echo, another microchip trial patient, and they fall in love. Calix plans to marry her.
