I think most of the black worms will go to the sand first because it seems like a place to go to hide and camouflage. But I think some will go to the leaves because the black worms can go hide there when it’s scared.
My hypothesis was partially correct. I thought that most of the worms would go to the sand, but I also said that maybe some of them will go to the leaves when the black worms were scared.
Rocks and leaves are the best habitat materials for the black worms
It makes sense that many of the black worms would go to the leaves because there were 14 black worms, altogether, found in the leaves at the end of the trial. Black worms like to eat leaves. Black worms like to live in muddy places with sediment. Sediment includes leaves, rocks, dead animals, and dead plants. It would also be helpful to camouflage in the leaves. Many of the black worms went to the rocks. When the trial was done, there were 16 black worms altogether in the rocks. As I said before, worms like to have rocks, leaves, dead animals, and dead plants in their habitats. It would also be helpful to camouflage as well. When the trials were done, none of the worms went into the sand or the plain water.
What I thought it would have been, my hypothesis:
