Lennie had killed Curley's wife not on purpose but accidentally and went into the woods and hid. He knew that he was going to disappoint George so he thought it was best to go hide. He knew he had ruined his chance of tending rabbits.
Lennie had remembered what his Aunt Clara told him and he was excited and proud of himself for remembering. He was also thinking about how George had told him when he had done bad to hide in the dry bush and thats exactly what he did.
AHH!! A bunny exactly what I want to see and look what there is!!
He had been imagining because he knew he was no longer going to be able to tend rabbits so he was dreaming and he had been thinking he was seeing a rabbit right in front of him.
Candy went to go look for Lennie and Curley's wife because they had been gone for a while and she went into the barn and had found that Curley's wife was dead. He yells for George and Curley and they come.
They know it was Lennie and they go and start looking. George and Curley have agreed that they are going to sneak up on Lennie and George is going to kill Lennie. They think that is best otherwise, he would have to go to a facility and would suffer.
Their plan is in action and George is going to convince Lennie that everything is okay. George is going to have Lennie look at the nature and than George is going to shoot him in the back of the head. Than he shoots Lennie and everything is over with. George feels guilt but not as guilty as turning him in and him having to suffer.
