- Hey, dad you need to stop smoking. Your health is getting worse. I'm worried.
- Ok, sweetheart I will quit. I promise.

- Secondhand smoke causes lung cancer in children who have never smoked. Nonsmokers who are exposed to secondhand smoke at home increase their risk of developing lung cancer by 20-30%. Sorry, to say but your daughter has developed lung cancer due to second hand smoke/passive smoking.
- Studies by the HRI into the effects of passive smoking on heart disease were pivotal in the global move to ban smoking in public places.
