- When I went to Italy and started researching about....
- About whatttt ? Tell me na....
- Wait..let me finish! So renaissance literally means rebirth and this period lasted from the 14th to the 17th century .
- OK, Understood.
- One of the biggest architectural marvel of this period was the Florence Cathedral by Filippo Brunelleschi.
- I also learnt about other buildings like The Marciana Library / Library of Saint Mark built between 1537 and 1588.
- The Marciana Library is one of the oldest surviving libraries and serves as a museum to tourists.
- I want to add that it houses one of the most impressive collections of classical texts and is Jacopo Sansovino's best art piece :) :)
- Now tell us what was the impact of renaissance on architecture?
- The impact of renaissance in architecture was the reintroduction of the classical roman and greek elements such as arches, columns and domes into buildings.
- The renaissance style places emphasis on symmetry, proportion and geometry.
- Ahana, tell us where renaissance started and what is the story behind it.
- Renaissance began in Italy , the birthplace of the Roman empire.
- Following the fall of the empire in the 4th century , and the subsequent dark ages , the incredible art and ideas of the roman times were temporarily lost .
- They were later rediscovered in the 12th century , leading to the start of the renaissance period.
