- "Hay-lo..."
- Beneatha Scolds Mama
- Asagai. Joesph Ah-Sa-Guy
- Mama Meets Asagai
- "Ah-sah-guy."
- "Well... that's nice...You must come see us again-Mr.-"
- Beneatha is cleaning in the kitchen with her mama next to the door. The phone rang and Beneatha rushed to answer. It was her professor, Joesph Asagai. She says, "Haylo."
- The Check has Arrived
- Get down them steps, boy!
- In this scene, it shows when Beneatha gives Mama a talking to about what to say to Asagai and what not to ask. "Ah-Sa-Guy." When Beneatha does that, it shows that she cares about this guy.
- Mama Sees the Check
- "Ten thousand dollars. (She hands it to RUTH) Put it awaysomewhere, Ruth."
- In this scene, Joesph Asagai meet Mama. She and him talk a little about how far he went to see Beneatha. When she says goodbye, she stumbles at his name. "...Mr.-" "Ah-sah-guy." Joesph reponds with.
- Walter Younger Sees the Check
- "Can’t you give people a Christian greetingbefore you start asking about money?"
- In this scene, the mailman has arrived and rang the bell to the Younger's apartment. Ruth tells Travis, "Get down them stairs, boy!" to get the check up the stair to Mama.
- Mama had just recieved the check from Travis. She asks him if that's the right amount of 0s. $10,000! She doesn't know how to feel about the memory of her husband, Walter Younger, so she ask Ruth to put it away.
- The first thing Walter did when he got home was to ask about the check. He wants to use it for a liqour store but no one will have it. This represents how Walter reacts and what his true intentions are.
- "Did it come?"
