The Philippine Constitution was approved by the 1986 Constitutional Commission on October 12, 1986 and was presented to former President Corazon Aquino on October 15, 1986. it was ratified on February 1987 and proclaimed on February 11 on that year so it was called as the 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines.

PREAMBLEWe, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society and establish a government that shall embody our ideas and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony and secure ourselves and our posterity the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality, and peace to ordain and promulgate this Constitution.

ARTICLE 1 OR THE NATIONAL TERITORYThe Philippine archipelago, including all of its islands and waters, and all other lands in which the Philippines has sovereign power or authority, including its land based, depositional environment, and aircraft sectors, as well as its marine areas, seabed, subsoil, insular shelves, and other submarine areas, comprise the sovereign borders. The waters surrounding, between, and linking the archipelago's islands, despite of their broadness and measurements, are part of the Philippines' territorial seas.
The Philippines' territory includes the entire Philippine archipelago, including all of its islands and waters. Its territorial seas include the waters covering, between, and connecting its islands. The estate, ocean surface, subsoil, insular racks, and other navy ship areas are all included in these waters.

This article is about the Philippines as a democratic and republican State, that the state have the power to renounce war as an instrument of national policy, the armed forces should be the protector of the Filipino and the State, the government prime duty is to protect and serve the people, and the protection of life, liberty, and property that we are enjoying is the blessing of democracy as well as the separation of State and Church shall be invincible.
