While eating at the Last Supper, which was the last meal Jesus would have with His Disciples before He would be killed, Jesus took a piece of bread, gave a prayer of thanks, and gave it to His Disciples. "Take it and eat it", He said, "This is my body."
The Crown of Thorns
After the Last Supper, one of the disciples named Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and asked, "What will you give me if I betray Jesus to you?" The chief priests counted 30 silver coins and gave them to Judas.
Pilot Condemns Jesus to Die
Once Jesus was handed over to the Roman soldiers, they changed His clothes and put on Him a purple cloak.
Jesus Bears His Cross
Then, the soldiers made a crown out of thorny branches and placed it on Jesus' head, and they also put a stick in His right hand. Then, the soldiers knelt before Him and made fun of Him. "Long live the King of the Jews!" they said. Jesus was truly the King of The Jews, but the soldiers and some of the crowds wouldn't believe Him.
Pontius Pilot, the appointed leader of Judea, wished to please the crowd by condemning Jesus to be Crucified. However, Pilot knew that Jesus was innocent, but he chose to please the crowd instead by condemning Jesus to die.
So the soldiers took Jesus, and He went out carrying His own cross, to a place called Golgotha, which means, the Place of the Skull.
