- Once Jesus reached Golgotha with His cross, they crucified Him, along two theifs who were crucified on either side of Him.
- A Soldier Spears Jesus' Side
- There was an inscription over Jesus that said INRI. This means, "This is the King of the Jews."
- Jesus Is Placed in a Tomb
- Then, one of them ran at once and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine, and put it on a reed and gave it to Jesus to drink.
- Jesus Rises From the Dead
- One of the soldiers plunged his spear into Jesus' side to make sure He was dead, instantly blood and water poured out.
- A man named Joseph of Arimathea took Jesus' body, wrapped it in clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away
- Three women who went to the tomb Jesus was in, were greeted by and angel who was waiting there. The angel said, "Do not be afraid for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as He said. Come and see the place where He lay."
