  • Let's catch up...
  • Remember Joe? Joe is a teacher leader at his school looking to take his education to the next level. Joe love his family time, basketball, and his teaching job. He stays active in his church. He wants to find a program that is affordable, yet challenging. Joe wants to incorporate his work he is already doing as a teacher leader in his school.
  • Hi! I'm Joe! I'm a 29 year old teacher interested in going back to school, but I'm frustrated by how many programs are available! I love U.K., but I don't know if I can afford it.
  • Hello! I'm Mackenzie! I specialize in helping post-graduate students find funding and guide the students through the application process and beyond. Many graduate students complain they are frustrated with our application process and lack of funding, but I'm the expert who can help them out! Once you are placed in a cohort, I will personally connect you to the cohort leader.
  • Joe calls UK and is directed to Mackenzie. Right away, Mackenzie makes an appointment to talk to Joe about the benefits of going to UK. Joe instantly feels like this sets UK apart from other universities.
  • Hi Joe! Welcome to UK! Let's take some time exploring options for how to use what you are already doing in your school to help pay for your program.
  • Thanks, Mackenzie! You don't even know how much just sitting down and talking to someone about the application process and financial aid sets UK apart from other universities.
  • Mackenzie asks Joe about his leadership in his school, if he has a student teacher, or a is a KTIP resource teacher. Then, Mackenzie calls the district to work with them to get an innovation grant for Joe.
  • Mackenzie takes the time to LISTEN to Joe's concerns about finances. She knows that a personal connection is one of the needs of new adult students re-entering the education world.
  • Mackenzie has taken care of helping Joe with the application process and financial aid. Now, she personally introduces Joe to his Cohort Leader, Camry Doleman.
  • Joe continues teaching while working on his degree. He often contacts Dr. Doleman when he is overwhelmed or needs a contact in another district. Joe is grateful that one of the major benefits of UK is the professional networking that occurs when you are a student there.
  • 1 year later...
  • I can't believe I'm one year into my program. Mackenzie has been a major help. She worked with my district to get an innovation grant for the work I'm doing with Personalized Learning. She also has connected me with my Cohort leader who has called and e-mailed many times to check on my progress and see if I need anything.
  • Here at UK, we will work with you every step of the way to ensure you feel confident about your experience. We know that everyone loves technology, but sometimes you need a personal contact when technology doesn't work as expected.
  • Two years later, Joe is a graduate of the leadership program at UK. He feels empowered because his district invested in him as a leader. He also feels grateful because someone like Mackenzie was there every step of the way to add that personal touch he had been looking for in a graduate program. He is also relatively debt-free because of the funding he received. :)
  • Five years later, Joe is a principal at Eastside Elementary School. His experience at UK prepared him, but the professional networking UK provided helped him feel confident and he has a strong group of leaders to surround himself with.
