On the 15 of January my father called informing us that my nephew had gone missing. When we arrived to our neighbourhood we were greeted by a large crowd of policemen and firemen. They were hovering over the canel and although his body was not found they concluded that he had slipped, fell and drowned.
At 3:00pm a few hours later his mother Yaeko arrived and started screaming at me. In the moment I couldn't have agreed with her more. I would have given anything to exchange my life for his. She blamed my parents. They blamed themselves. It was a horrid mess
This time I didn't allow myself to hide the cupboard like I always did when i was upset. To honour both the Iwasaki family and Tanaka family I stayed strong and hid my feelings.
