- Yay! I just turned 16. I can try and get my license now.
- You can get your L on or after your 16th birthday.
- LEARN TO DRIVE SMART
- But first, I need to study and prepare myself for the test.
- To get your L you’ll need to get 40 out of 50 questions right on a multiple-choice knowledge test. Passing it ensures you understand the rules of the road.

- Once you recieve your L, you can start learning to drive on the road with a licensed qualified supervisor. Remember to display the red L magnet on the back of your car.
- N
- Once you've had your L licence for at least 12 months and have stayed prohibition-free, you can then take your class 7 road test to get your N.To get ready for your test, be sure to get lots of on-road driving practice with a qualified supervisor and consider taking a driver training course.
- Practice makes perfect!
- Once you've been a N driver for at least 2 years and have been safe driving, you can now prepare for your class 5 road test!
- Once you've passed your class 5 road test, you can now get your full licence.
