What's up. I'm the skater girl of these woods. Usually, people call me "the skeptic skater"...because I'm such a skeptic. Let me teach you a little bit about the core beliefs of skepticism...
1) Question knowledge. 2) Neither affirm nor deny anything. 3) There are always good arguments on both sides of every question. 4) An expectation or habit is not a reason. 5) Things change.
I don't necessarily agree, skater girl. My name is Glatus and I am a firm believer in the scientific method. To me, science is knowledge. Science is truth. It's people like you that cause all of the confusion with climate change. People are wondering what the causes of climate change are, when it's obviously the pollution that humans are releasing. There's scientific evidence proving so.
I'm not saying you're wrong, but think of all the other possible causes...and how do you know that your answer is the correct one? In order to understand where I'm coming from, you must go deeper in thought. Think about what knowledge is, essentially.
Yeah...I guess I understand what you're saying. That way of thinking makes you realize how little the human race knows, compared to all the possible truths of the world.
Thinking skeptically makes you realize how no one knows what the future holds. No one can say what will happen next. That's why we have probabilities...To show what will most likely happen based on previous data.
2) I'm already here, honey...I've been eavesdropping on your entire conversation!
1) My boyfriend's ears would bleed if he heard you say these things. His name is Carl. I'm going to invite him here so we can have a fun little debate!
Let me just say that it is ridiculous that you don't believe that humans are the cause of climate change....The majority of humanity believes that we are the cause, so how can you believe otherwise?
I never said I don't believe that humans are at fault for climate change. I just don't see how we can think of anything as true or real...Like, how do you KNOW something to be true? How do we know that we know anything at all? I just doubt that what we think we know is actually true. If everyone else says something is true, do you believe it just because everyone else does?
Skater girl, you're overthinking it. We, humans, are knowledgeable because of science. Science has given us the ability to acquire knowledge through the use of indisputable facts. No one should argue with science...because science holds evidence of the knowledge that humans have.
Carl, I think you're thinking about it too little. If you think more in depth, you will begin to wonder how we even know what truth is. How can we distinguish true from false? All I'm saying is that there are two sides to every argument and you must open your mind to all the possible truths of the world.
Keep your mind open.
