Storyboard Text

  • One fine morning in Frankfurt, everyone at the Sesemann Manor was busy preparing for Grandmamma's arrival. Miss Rotttenmeier was being her fussy old authoritative self.
  • What are you doing Sebastian? Pull up your socks and don't be tardy!
  • Such was the exhilaration of Clara and Heidi on Grandmamma's arrival. Clara couldn't stop talking about her to Heidi.
  • I am so excited Clara! But I hope I don't disappoint anyone.
  • Oh Heidi! Grandmamma is coming to visit us! Isn't it splendid?
  • Later that afternoon, was the arrival of Grandmamma. She was welcomed very warmly by Sebastian and the others.
  • It feels so good to be back!
  • Ah! Welcome Mrs. Sesemann.
  • Grandmamma loved meeting Heidi but was startled to know that Heidi could not read. So she brought a picture book for Heidi and went to her room to make her read.
  • And that's what Heidi did.....
  • It's no use Grandmamma, My friend Peter said so. But still, I will try.
  • Here Heidi, you are a capable child. Here's a book. It will help you to learn to read!
  • Heidi listened to the advice given by Grandmamma and prayed to God that day.
  • But just after a glance of the beautiful book full of mountains, a goatherd and sheep.....
  • ..Heidi burst into tears and explained how terribly she was missing her home, the mountains and Grandfather too. This made her miserable.
  • Oh! How I miss the mountains and Grandfather!
  • What happened child? Why are you so upset?
  • Really Grandmamma? In that case, I will start praying from today.
  • Heidi, when you are sad and have no one to turn to, you can always count on God. Pray to him with your whole heart, dear child. He always finds a way to make us happy.
  • Dear God...
  • A week later, God listened to Heidi's prayers, and she learnt how to read! She was thrilled to see this and went to share it with Clara, while Grandmamma and Mr. Usher, the teacher quietly peeped to see it for themselves.
  • Oh how wonderful Heidi! Can you read me something from your book?
  • Look Clara, I learnt how to read!
  • Since then, every night before going to sleep, Heidi always glanced at her beautiful book and thereafter, reading became her greatest delight. Grandmamma had given her a phenomenal gift, the ability to read.
