Welcome! You are in Baghdad. Do you have any questions?
Wow this is a fancy building! It's a lot nicer than pictures I've seen of the European world why is that?
Well the Islamic government believes in having beautiful cities, and because our society is refined and wealthy we can most defiantly can afford it. As well as the the support from Rulers and rich merchants. Come, I shall show you the market!
Jimmy falls asleep in his Socials class while the teacher is talking about the history of Islamic people and their life in the city.
Wow this market is awesome!
Jimmy's dream transports him to the city of Baghdad in 1000 Ce.
Excuse me miss, I think you dropped this
Jimmy don't speak to her!
He is shocked once he realizes he is in baghdad. The first person he meets is a man.
I dont understand
Jimmy becomes curious about certain aspects of the Islamic civilization. Aladdin helps him with his questions.
You see Jimmy, a women should leave her house for three reasons only: when she is conducted to the house of her bridegroom, on the death of her parents and when she is going to her own grave. Otherwise she shall stay home and serve her husband.
Aladdin shows Jimmy the market place but Jimmy notices that the lady across the road had dropped a coin.
Welcome to the Abbâsid court!
Jimmy returns the coin to her.
The Abbâsid court is home to the Abbâsid rulers they dress in only the finest clothes and surround them selves with beautiful jewels. The Abbâsid rulers are constantly at war, and when their not they are preparing for war
Aladdin helps Jimmy to understand where women stand in the social pyramid.
Our biggest enemy, the Byzantine empire! They are always stirring up trouble!
Next, Aladdin takes Jimmy to the Abbâsid court.
Cool...what is the Abbasid court?
Per usual Jimmy has questions for Aladdin.
Cool but who were they at war with?
Jimmy notices a man off in the distance
Um Aladdin... who's that guy
Aladdin recognizes the man, his name is Ibn Sina.
Oh my! That's Ibn Sina! And look, he's coming this way!!
Who's Ibn Sina?
Who is Ibn Sina!? Only the greatest Physician, poet, astronomer, and Philosopher! Have you not heard of the "Canon of medicine"?
Wow it's Ibn Sina!!
Wait I do know you! Im learning about you at my school!
Speaking of school Jimmy, I think it's time you wake up.
You have learned much now it's time to go home.
What?! No I haven't seen enough of Baghdad yet!
Ibn Sina approached them.
Now class let's review what we learned today!
Jimmy is having a great time but Ibn Sina reminds him that he has to go home soon.
OK, Jimmy! Tell us about the expansion of the Islamic science and technology?
Islamic scholars had great scientific and technical knowledge, in cities scholars studied medicine and science. Their respect for learning went beyond their own culture and many of their libraries had translated essays and books of the ancient Greeks. One of the most famous scholars was Ibn Sina who wrote the "Canon of medicine" which was used as a medical text for another 600 years!
Jimmy wakes up from his dream.
Wow Jimmy very good! Oh, there's the bell class dismissed!
He is back is his classroom like he never left.
The Teacher asks Jimmy a question.
Oh of course!
Jimmy answers her question.
The Teacher is very impressed with Jimmy's answer but the bell rings and class is dismissed.
Jimmy waits in the lawn for his Mum to come and get him.
Jimmy's Mum comes to pick him up from school.
Come on Jimmy time to go home.
On the way home his Mum asks what he learn at school that day.
