- In the beginning on the story it talks about how "Della" is in her room alone crying because wants to buy her husband "Jim" a Christmas present but doesn't have enough money. (she only has $1.87)
- She was so desperate to get her husband Jim a present, she decided to cut and sell her long beautiful hair $20 .
- Della frantically searched every store in the town to find a gift worthy enough for Jim.
- Della finally found a gift worthy enough of Jim, which was a nice shiny gold watch.
- Della went home and started preparing her house for her and Jim's dinner. While preparing her house she was worrying about how Jim would think of her/would he love her the same.
- Whats wrong honey?
- The moment Jim walking in the house for dinner he look very puzzled.
- .........UH
- Oh my gosh, THANK YOU.
- Jim gave Della this very expensive comb that she had been wanting for forever. But little did she know Jim had to sell something very valuable to him so he could her that gift.
- Here honey
- It all worked out in the end because Della told Jim her hair grows fast and they both realized how much each other had to go through just to get the other person a gift.
