- netwtons first law, also known as the law of inertia
- states that an object will continue to be in the state of rest or in a state of motion unless an external force acts on it.
- yay motion
- so when this dude kicks the ball, he is breaking the object out of its resting state
- 15 units of force
- now lets say the dude kicks the ball with 15 units of force, the ball will roll towards the goal until stopped by an opposing external force
- the ball will now begin to slow down as the air drag begins to set in, while the force from the kick is larger than the force from the wind, it will still begin to slow down.
- 15 units of force from the kick
- 5 units of force from wind
- however, if the dude's little brother kicks the ball, he will have less force, meaning the ball will travel slower.
- if the kick only exerted 10 units of force, then the time it travels will be much slower due to the opposing air drag
- 10 units of force from the kick
- 5 units of force from the wind
