  • The first evidence about Ms. Cavendish supports the central idea that you should always be careful because it shows how careful she was to achieve her goal. Earlier that day, she had noticed Mrs. Inglethorp holding a letter but she wasn’t allowed to see it. She assumed her husband was cheating on her and Mrs. Inglethorp was protecting him. In a trance of jealousy, Ms. Cavendish put a sleeping pill in Cynthia and Mrs. Inglethorp’s coffee and snuck into Mrs. Inglethorp’s room at night through the door in Cynthia’s room. She put the sleeping pills in their drinks because she didn’t want anyone to wake up and find her in their room. That would look very suspicious and that would be exactly what Ms. Cavendish wouldn’t want. So, in order to make sure that no-one would see her, she put the pills in her drink and carefully went into the rooms to find the letter. She was careful not to get caught and had to justify her story to make sure that no-one knew what she did. She did everything precisely and carefully, planting the medicine, sneaking into Mrs. Inglethorp’s room at a certain time of day, and finding the letter in order to achieve her goal. The purpose of her going through all of this was to not get caught.
  • The second piece of evidence about Ms. Howard proves that the central idea is important in the story since she was careful. Ms. Howard was working together with Alfred, but nobody could know since they didn’t want to be caught as Emily’s murderers. Ms. Howard had to assume the role of someone who hates Alfred so nobody could know of their plan. She had to be careful not to blow their cover because if someone found out that she was just pretending, she and Alfred would be in big trouble. When Ms. Howard went to buy the poison, she disguised herself as Mr. Inglethorp (Alfred) by wearing his clothes and his distinguishing beard to make sure that “Mr. Inglethorp” would be seen at the chemist’s shop at that time. She was careful not to show her true identity because if she did, then people would find out and she would be punished. She had to be careful to plan what she was doing since it wasn’t something good. If Ms. Howard and Alfred were caught, then they would face a horrible punishment, which is why that if they wanted to achieve their goal, they had to be careful. They had to be careful so they wouldn't get caught.
  • And that is why both of the pieces of evidence support the central idea to "always be careful." Thank you for reading the comic strip.
  • Eva would like me to thank you for allowing her to express her creativity on this project and for being a great teacher. Goodbye and I hope we will meet again in the future!
