Storyboard Text

  • Earthquakes are typically produced by subsurface rock abruptly breaking and rapid movement along a fault. The seismic waves that cause the ground to tremble are caused by this quick release of energy.
  • Take quick cover wherever you are when an earthquake begins. If necessary, take a few steps to a nearby safe location. Stay where you are until the shaking stops.
  • Stay calm after an earthquake. If you have the ability, assist others especially elders and other children at you age. Expect aftershocks. Listen to the radio or television for government announcements. Take their advice. Return phone receivers to their cradles; only call for emergency services.
  • Now I know all of it. Thank you so much, Mom for explaining it to me one-by-one.
