  • My view on The Battle of Gettysburg is that it was a turning point in the war. This battle also aided in the effort to get rid of slavery. This battle was necessary, but the amount of loss is hard to see. The Battle of Gettysburg also helped the union get closer to achieving their goals. This battle happened shortly after the Emancipation Proclamation, which focused on ending slavery. I was in the background as a nurse and spy and cook, being a spy I gained information from the south that was useful for the north.

  • My view on the Battle of Antietam is that it was the bloodiest single-day battle in American history. It was a pivotal battle. The amount of loss was heartbreaking. I thought the union preventing a confederate victory gave me hope that the Emancipation Proclamation would get written. I emphasized that it was much needed, I saw as a strategic turning point. I risked my life so many times to help free others, I know the soldiers sacrifice so much and struggle for freedom and liberty. I was deeply committed to helping others during this battle.
