- <----- Echo talks a lot and she has to have the last word with anyone.
- textual evidence: " Echo had one problem; she loved talking, and always wanted to have the last word."
- "Echo kept talking to Juno, which gave the nymphs time to run off. When Juno realized what Echo had done, she punished her saying, "You tricked me with your words, so I will stop your tongue from ever speaking first. You shall still have the last word, but no power to speak first."
- Echo distracts Hera or Juno from seeing Zeus with other Nymphs. Hera or Juno takes away Echos speech because of this.
- "Hands off! I would rather die than you should have me!" "Have me," said she.
- Echo then goes and falls in love with Narcissus and unfortunately he does not like her back
- " One day another young nymph tried to show her love for Narcissus. She was rejected and sadly prayed that he should fall in love and not have the love returned. "
- Narcissus the rejects all the other Nymphs being too full of himself until the wrong one came along
- Narcissus fell in love with himself
- "He fell in love with himself and brought his lips near to take a kiss; he plunged his arms in to hug himself."
- Narcissus is heartbroken from rejection of himself and turns into a flower
