Every day, the king had a hidden meal that no one else saw. The servent made the decision to open his meal and eat the king's snake, which therefore resulted in him being able to listen to the conversations of the animals.
Fate
A goose swallowed the Queen's wedding ring, and the servent was accused. When finding the ring, he decided to ask the king for a little bit of money and a horse so that he could go on a journey. 
Fate
When on his journey, he made the decision to kill his horse and feed it to the starving baby crows. 
Fate
He was a servant from the beginning and was fated to be one. If he was not a servant, the decisions that came from this would not have happened.
A goose had swallowed the queen's ring, and the servant was accused of stealing it. The servant overheard the geese talking and learned the ring had been swallowed. If the goose had not swallowed the Queen's ring, he would never have been able to take as great of a journey as he did.
The servant meets a princess who refuses to be with him until he completes a certain number of tasks. After encountering the princess, he completed several tasks to be with her. No matter where he went and which tasks he needed to finish, he still ended up with her.
