- "If jim doesn't kill me before he takes a second look at me"
- The setting was freezing hard to see uneasy, cloudy. She was freezing in tears. This is important because it proves how the next day or soon. The holiday we love Christmas is coming. People always have to buy presents. But for her it's a little hard.
- The internal conflict Is that della only had 1.87 cents to buy jim a present. So she went to the barber shop to get money for her hair. Her long beautiful hair meant alot to her. But she needed to cut it off for what she wanted to get for jim.
- The dialogue is important because it proves how she gave up all she had just for a present. She was scared on what Jim would say. But she did it for his present she was gonna give him. This also proves she doesn't make very much money at all.
- The rising action was when she was waiting for jim and her nerves were all messed up. She wanted him to not be upset that she cut her hair for his present. Since she only had 1.87. This proves that her characterization is very nervous and afraid.
- The situational irony is when jim comes and everyone expects him to be mad. But, he's peaceful. He sold his watch when Della got him a watch strap for the watch he sold. Jim got her hair curlers and stuff for her long hair. But, she cut it. So they just laugh it off
- The resolution was they were both layed back and chill saved the presents because they were wise presents. just because it's small and may not cost alot. Doesn't mean there gonna be mad at you. So be grateful that you at least got something.
