Storyboard Text

  • In this scene, Elizabeth and John Proctor are talking to Reverend Hale. He went over to their house to ask questions before the court case.Soon after, when Hale is about to leave, Ezekiel Cheever and Marshall Herrick come with a warrant for the arrest of Elizabeth proctor. They have suspicion that she used a poppet as a voodoo doll to hurt Abigail Williams. Mary warren had given Mrs.Proctor a poppet and Cheever found a needle that Mary had left in the doll. Proctor tried to blame it on Mary warren, but she said she meant no harm with it. By the end, Ezekiel and Marshall leave with Elizabeth to bring her to jail.
  • "John- I think I must go with them. Mary, there is bread enough for the morning; you will bake, in the afternoon. Help Mr.Proctor as you were his daughter- you owe me that, and much more. When the children wake, speak nothing of witchcraft- it will frighten them"(397).
