Brian saw a mama bear and her cubs. If he had taken two more steps, he would be in a bad place. He also saw wolves. Brian stood there calm, watching them walk up the hill. He was changing. At this point, he wanted to die. He even cut himself and woke up to the disgusting sight of blood. Brian had stayed up one night and built the bow and arrow he was talking about. It was successful and Brian had a feast.

Chapter 18
Brian had a really bad day. At one point he was just hunting a fool bird when a moose came at him. The moose hurt his ribs and injured his shoulder. Brian went to sleep off the pain when he heard a loud roar of the wind. A tornado he thought. He hunkered down and hoped for the best. The tornado took all of his resources and left brian back at square one.
Brian started to rebuild his shelter after the whole run down last night. His ribs were very sore thanks to the moose. He had to take short breaths and move slowly. luckily it healed a little that day. Then he saw the yellowfin in the water. The plane and its survival pack was still there. He decided to build a raft. Brian had to push it because he would not get far just sitting on it. When he got there, all he could think about was the dead pilot.
Brian works on getting the survival pack out of the airplane. He is not sure how to get in but realizes how easily the aluminum siding will come off if he simply uses his hatchet. While he is chopping, Brian drops the hatchet. He is furious at himself but is able to retrieve it and get back to work.
