I don't know! I reset my password yesterday because I got an email. And now, all my money is gone! It says there were 4 failed password attempts.
How did that happen?
Oh, you probably got password attacked.
A password attack is when a malicious party tries to get your password for something. Mostly, they use it to get money.
There are many types of password attacks. The one that happened to you is probably a "dictionary attack", where common passwords are attempted, or "credential stuffing, where the attacker finds your personal information and uses that to guess your password.
What's that?
How many types of password attacks are there?
How can I stop this from ever happening to me again?
There are many type. Most repeatedly guess the password, while some require digging through old accounts, others send fake emails, and some even require stalking the person.
The best way to stop this from happening to you is to keep a very secure password that's hard to guess, even if someone knows everything about you.
You should make sure to keep your passwords in a secure place. Like in a journal or something.
Also don't click on links that you are emailed unless you are 100% sure it isn't fake.
