- Today we will learn about the freedom fighters of Manipur
- Last session we learnt about the immense contributions of Nelson Mandela in the South African freedom struggle
- You can see how the many different freedom fighters from Manipur risked, and even gave, their lives to protect their state from British suppression, in the same way that Nelson Mandela resisted the Apartheid in order to end the suffering of the citizens of his country.
- In history class, did you notice the similarities between the Freedom Fighters of Manipur and Nelson Mandela's struggles?
- All of them had big parts in ending the suffering of multiple people, and protecting countless lives. These handful people saved entire communities and populations. Their contributions were extremely important and if not for them, there would be neither progression nor development in those regions.
- Yes, the similarity is apparent. The freedom fighters gave their all to protect their kin and Mandela, too, with the help of his comrades, freed his country from a life of oppression from the whites.
