- The new liege of Essex Manor, Lord William, wasted no time exploiting his new position of authority.
- On his very first night as the house's new master, William immediately re-instituted his rights under the archaic but technically still valid droit de seigneur customs, all but legally converting converting the house's entire female staff into mandatory concubines of his new harem.
