Plot: Terry is a 13 year old boy. He is close to being a good athlete. There was something about his father that was bothering him. Every time his father loses his eyes Terry feels a little embarrassed.He wants to understand what's happening to his father that makes his eyes go away.
Exposition: Setting: In his house Terry lives with his parents. Terry is 13 years old. The story mostly takes place at his home. Terry wants to know what happened to his dad and the reason his eyes go away. His mom tells him that it is called the Veitnam syndrome but she refuses to elaborate. So, he went to the school library to see if anything would help but, nothing helped him get his answers.
It's ok dad, You'll be fine. I'm here for you.
Rising action: He didn't give up looking for the answers that he wanted. So, he went to his history teacher, Mr. Carlson . Terry asked about the Vietnam war. He gave him some books to read about the war in Vietnam. They were interesting but, they weren't much help to Terry.
Climax:Since the books didn't help, he decided to to ask his father about what happened in Vietnam. When his mother went shopping, he gathered his courage and went to ask his dad about his syndomre. His father started taking about what happened in Vietnam and how he was the only one who survied the attack and all that. All those memories made him burst into tears.
Falling Action: Now he knows why his father's eyes go away. He has knowledge about his father's condition.
Resolution: Terry feels much better and closer to his dad then before. He doesn't feel embarrassed even when his father's eyes go away. Theme: You have to accept others even if they are different.
