- This was the Earth 4.5 billion years ago.
- The Earth was formed by billions of rocks in the Milky Way Galaxy. These rocks became hot. Then a large rock called an asteroid hit the Earth and formed the Moon.
- Later it started to rain and the Earth cooled down which allowed life to start on Earth.
- Later on,the continents started to drift away from each other.
- In 1880, a geologist named Alfred Wegener was born. When he grew up he studied astronomy. Later on he didn't like astronomy so he became a meteorologist.Then he went to Greenland with three other explorers and almost died! He was stuck in a cave on the mountain because of an avalanche. He studied the weather over there and became a Polar Meteorologist. Once he saw the map and found out that the west coast of Africa and East coast of South America fit together.Then he went around the world and found the same fossils in America and Asia so he thought that maybe the world was one giant continent. He called this super continent Pangaea. Nobody believed him back then. He didn't live long enough to see that later geologists found tectonic plates to be the reason for these changes because when the tectonic plates collide, it causes earthquakes and those earthquakes can cause the separation of the continents.
- According to me, I think the future of the Earth seems to be under water, due to the global rising levels of the sea.
