- This is a story about my babycare at home.
- Diaper Rash
- Oh, honey, I know you must be feel uncomfortable with diaper rash. Mummy will clean your skin and change a new diaper for you.
- WAAH~~WAAH
- Breastfeed
- Now, my little girl Anna is 10 days. When leaving the hospital after delivery, the pediatrician shared an online course about how to take care baby at home. I learned a lot from it. And I apply the knowledge in my daily baby care. Sometimes I also go back to the online course to learn more when needed.
- Reducing Spitting Up
- In the morning, Anna wakes up crying because she got a diaper rash yesterday. I learned from the online course that I can use water to gently clean the skin, air out, apply the right ointment, use the right size diaper, and change diapers after getting wet.
- Relieve Hiccup
- Dear, you will be all right after mummy pat your back.
- After changing the diaper, Anna is still crying. I know she is hungry. It's time to breastfeed. Anna and I both like the cradle position. I learned from the online course about how to latch the baby onto the breast. And it usually takes me 30 minutes to breastfeed her until she is full.
- Shape Baby's Head
- After breastfeeding, I need to hold Anna upright for a while to avoid spitting up. This often happens because the baby’s digestive system is so immature, making it easier for their stomach contents to flow back up.
- Oh, Anna has hiccups after breastfeeding. From the online course, I learned that it's very normal and is usually no reason to worry. But I can burp her to help relieve the hiccup. I learned the position of lying Anna across my lap with her tummy faced down and gently patting her back.
- Hic! Hic!
- Babies always sleep a lot. Anna is sleepy again. I have learned a super important lesson from the online course that is the baby’s head is soft and will be reshaped after sleeping on one side for a long time. So I must make her sleep on each side of her head by turns to avoid the abnormal shape head. This time, I let her sleep on the left side of her head.
