- John Smith convinced the Natives to bring us food and help us with the settlement. Pocahontas and John Rolfe started to get fonder of each other. So that made the Natives like us even more. Pocahontas gave us food more every day. I think it was so she could see John but who cares if we were getting food from our enemies! Even though many men died in the process I was still living and living my best life.
- It was the year 1607. I was now part of the Jamestown settlement. As I walked onto the ship I realized what was going to happen straight away. There were the rich, they would do absolutely nothing until their life depended on it. And there were the young and old commoners, we would be the ones to work and slave around. It wouldn’t matter at the end of the day though because we were all here for the same reason, we were the Virginia company. We were here to find gold settle and claim land and resources.
- After many men died John Smith finally decided to do something about it. We all sat down together at dinner time. The fire felt nice and the soup didn’t smell half as bad as it usually did. During dinner, John Smith talked about going to the Native American's hut. I looked around at everyone else faces everyone was in terror. The Native Americans didn’t really like us considering the fact they attacked many, many men and killed them. The next day John Smith took me and a couple of other men. I assumed it was to let him have time to escape if the Native Americans attacked us. John Smith poured out a bunch of jewels and bribed the Natives. Surprisingly it worked.
- The trip to the new land was tough and difficult but when we got there all of a sudden it seemed worth it. The scenery was breathtaking and I could imagen a whole British colony there. Little did I know it would not be like this until 3 years later. After 3 months everything started going downhill. The Natives started attacking, we ran out of food, and people started getting sick. And we had to build a fort in less than a week.
- The Powhatan stopped giving us food in the winter. I assumed that they needed it for themeselves but they didnt care to tell us. Many men were radging about the food source. But in at lease a month. Everyone started getting sick because we were all starving. Everything started going down hill and John Rolfe and John Smith wanted to add more settles.
