This is the story of how I learned how to use my first computer.
This story starts when I was around nine years old and just finished a normal school day.
When I walk inside I see my dad doing some of his engineering work on his laptop in the dining room. With me not understanding what a computer was or how it worked I asked him.
Hey dad, what are you doing?
Just doing some work, come on over here and I'll show you exactly what it is.
He sat me down and showed me what he was doing. He was doing some of his engineering work on a software called SOLIDWORKS which is where you can create objects and shapes and morph them however you like. He showed me the basics and this experience really intrigued me
My dad noticed how much that experience piqued my interest. Therefore, he wanted to do something special for me.
With Christmas being right around the corner, he decided to buy me my first laptop as a Christmas present.
As soon as I opened the present I was ecstatic! Once I saw it I was ready to start using it, this of course at the time just meant playing Minecraft on it. However, it was still my first laptop and I loved it.
Yayyyy!
Come on son I'll help you set it up.
He helped me get the game Minecraft which is one of the main things I played on that laptop. He also just showed me all the basics of the laptop which really helped my understanding of computers in general.
So this is how you use your laptop son.
My dad and I have always been close, but this experience we had together really allowed us to become closer and allowed us to discover that we share the same interests.
I learned how to change my background on my laptop!

That's great!
Even as we both got older and my knowledge of computers grew, we still enjoyed talking about them to each other. I've even been able to teach him a few things but he would never admit it in front of people.
I figured out how to apply new thermal paste to my GPU and CPU! Now my laptop won't overheat!
Wow, that's impressive! Great work!

Computers and technology are very important to everyone nowadays. That's why I'm thankful I learned how to use computers at a young age and was able to bond with my dad over it.
That's the story of how I learned to use my first computer.
