  • ***two months later***
  • I told you to be home by 8! It's 10, why are so late?!
  • it was my friends birthday. I told you last week I was going out tonight.
  • I don't like how long your friends are keeping you out. What about me? Am I not as important to you??
  • biosynthesis: in this box the man is starting to guilt the women out of being comfortable with going out and being with her friends. This represents the beginning of the transformation within the host, where the DNA or RNA of the virus begin to replicate within it.

  • ***another month later***
  • who are you on the phone with?!
  • my mom.
  • okay. I'm sorry.
  • wrap it up I am hungry, you've talked enough.
  • maturation: in this box the man has practically completely taken control. The women has isolated herself from her friends and family and will do whatever the man says. This is a clear representation of the maturation stage, the host is at the point of no return and the virus has the power. The reasoning behind the women being isolated is because the man has taken over as the virus does to the host.

  • ***another month after that***
  • please don't do this. I need you. You're all I have.
  • It's over. I can't do this anymore. I need to move on.
  • lysis: this is the final stage of the lytic cycle. In this box the man has officially broken it off and is going to move on to his next potential partner. The women is completely destroyed by this news as she's completely changed throughout the relationship and lost everything. This parallels with the lysis stage in the lytic cycle as in this stage the phages tear their way out of the cell destroying it in the process, just as the man did to the women.
