- Why do we have to do this just because of our race? I miss my family and worry about losing more of my family.
- We should all be equal. I think people in the North want to help free us.
- We could start a rebellion, but then I think of what happened to Nat. Turner. He was captured and hanged.
- Yes, i do remember and thats why the white men have slave codes. We have very few rights.
- Have you heard about the underground railroad?
- Yes I heard we could escape to the North or Canada. I think we should try to escape, but I'm scared!
- We need to get to the safe station soon!! I'm worried we will get caught.
- I hope the lady they call "Black Moses" gets here soon so that we can escape!
- Please do not worry. You will soon be free!
