- God joined my heart and Romeo’s, and you joined our hands. But before this hand shall be joined to another in holy matrimony, or my heart be unfaithful by turning to another, this knife shall kill both my hand and heart.
- Hold on, daughter. I can see a small hope, which needs action as desperate as this whole situation.
- This scene (Act 4, scene 1) is an important point in the story. Friar Laurence giving Juliet the "fake death" potion later led to the death of 3 characters. Romeo was not made aware of Juliet's death being fake, so he killed himself next to Juliet to be with her until her body decayed. Paris died from fighting with Romeo at the Capulet tomb. Juliet died soon after she woke up, upon realizing that Romeo had killed himself. This is one of the major scenes that causes the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.
- Give me the potion, give it to me! Oh, don’t talk to me about fear! Love give me strength! And strength shall help me endure. Farewell, dear father!
- Be patient. Go back home, be strong and hold firm in your resolve. I’ll send a friar on a fast horse to Mantua with letters to your husband.
