  • Please Odysseus, tell us your story.
  • ok
  • RUN!
  • ATTACK!
  • HO HO HO!
  • far out bro
  • After visiting the land of the Phaeacians, they inquire for Odysseus' story. Reluctantly, Odysseus begins telling the Phaeacians the story of his wanderings. He starts by explaining the incredible events that unfolded after leaving Troy. The winds swept him and his men to Imarus, the city of Cicones, where they would loot the land out of greed.
  • Odysseus and his men plunder the thriving land of the Cicones, Ismarus, but become carried away by greed. The reinforced ranks of the Cicones soon turn to attack Odysseus and his men for looting their city. Odysseus and his men, overwhelmed, make their way back to their boat to escape. Greedily, they take their loot with them, risking their lives in the process.
  • Odysseus and his men successfully escape the land of the Cicones with all their loot, and continue onward. They face harsh weather on their journey sending them on a detour. It takes them an astounding nine day trip to get to the land of the Lotus-eaters. The natives give some of Odysseus' men the lotus fruits, which sends his men into a state of carelessness, and they quickly become addicted to the intoxicating fruits.
  • FREEDOM!
  • Shortly after dragging his men off the land of the Lotus eaters and locking them up, Odysseus and his men arrive to the land of the cyclops', a rough and uncivilized race. They shortly make a meal of wild goats and venture towards the mainland, where they find a cave filled with milks and cheeses. The cave, is inhabited by a cyclops, who does not see Odysseus and his men, and closes the only exit leading out of the cave. However, once the cyclops does see Odysseus and his men, he eats them.
  • LAND!
  • After the cyclops eats Odysseus' men, he realizes that due to the cyclop's uncivilized nature, he and his men will not be treated with respect as a stranger in the cyclop's home. They begin forming an escape plan. Odysseus took note of how heavy the rock blocking the exit was, and knows that they will not lift if without the cyclops. Keeping this in mind, he forms a plan that does not include killing the cyclops, but rather, blinding him to increase their chances of survival.
  • Odysseus and his men take advantage of the cyclops' state of blindness by tying themselves to the bellies of his livestock. When the cyclops lifts the rock to let the sheep graze, Odysseus and his men are able to escape the cave, unseen by the cyclops. They safely make it to their ship, and Odysseeus, sure that he will make it home safely, talks ill about the cyclops, who then curses him and his men. The cyclops says the curse will be fulfilled, because he is the son of Poseidon. Odysseus takes this lightly, and carries onward, towards Ithaca.
